Hey ppl
im new here i recently got a second hand p800 i tried to put the phillips camcorder software in it but the installation stopped and it said tht a software called "ECam Compatibility" was needed for the installation to proceed cud anyone please help me out wid dis?!?

obviously i used the UIQ version only or is it because my firmware is old?!?

it might be old firmware. i have R2D which was in my p800 when i got it in June 2003. it works fine with my p800. you might only have R1*.
On the main screen click on VIEW, then SYSTEM INFORMATION, then hit the right arrow button. if you look under Phone: the last 3 digits tells you the firmware. mabe someone else knows what the earliest version you must have to runn this application.

I doubt there would be any choice if he goes for a firmware upgrade.
This minimum requirement I mentioned serves only to know whether an upgrade is required at all

i spoke to the ppl here they said i cud hve an upgrade to R2F for just 350 INR! i expected a bigger dent in my pockets....! thnx again
