I just managed to get my T39 connected to my PC over IrDa connection ans also managed to install the phone as a modem but when I'm connected with my provider Windows sais it's connected with 9600 bps only. What happens and how can I get it to the promised 28k8?!?
Thanks a lot in advance
Windows XP
IrDa Serial cable Actisys 220L+
IrDa speed at 115200 bps

You'll need a GPRS subscription with a network that iffers it. Normal internet with just your phone and service provider can only go up to 9600 bps cos of the band width or something, I'm not sure.
I hope this helps.
By the way I don't think the IrDA can deliver data faster than 9600 BPS, try using the cable or bluetooth.

There is something called HSCSD (maybe high speed circuit switched data) which will allow you to use higer speed without GPRS..
Ask your network operator about it.. to be able to use it, they have to support it..

well, called the operator and they don't even know what HSCSD is and GPRS isn't yet available so I guess I'll just have to wait
Thanks anyway

How did you get the PC to use the T68 as the modem. I've installed the driver for it, I can see it under the Modems section in Control Panel, but when I make a new Dial Up connection, it won't let me choose the T68 as the modem.
Please ehlp. I'm using WinXP Home Edition.

Try using this....
Put this extra string in the dial up properties setting...under extra commands.. or extra string..
at+cbst=0,0,1;+chsn=4,0,0

if your operator only supports CSD, then there is nothing you can do, regardless of how you set up your phone or PC.
