Sony Ericsson P900 Upgrade
It appears that Sony Ericsson is set to release an upgrade for its flagship smartphone, the P900. Rumors state that the new device, which has no official name yet, will be announced in Q3 of this year. While it may not look much different from the original P900, this new smartphone, code-named "Layla", will feature a new flip with a QWERTY keyboard on the side touching the screen. We can also see that the outer keypad has been improved to make the keys slightly larger, addressing one of the other complaints people had with the original. Other new features supposedly include PTT support and support for the new Wireless Village IM system, which should bring the device into line with other Sony Ericsson products. We will also be seeing support for RIM e-mail support, and this will be the first phone from Sony Ericsson with this functionality shipping as standard. Sony Ericsson has stated in the past that they plan to bring RIM to the P900, and they may offer a firmware upgrade for it once this new QWERTY phone is released. One upgrade we had hoped to see in the successor of the P900 was a megapixel class camera, but it seems that the new handset will still be using a VGA camera.
Note: even though these images are computer generated, they have come from a reliable source so this should represent what the final phone, if ever released, would look like.
