It's been doing it for a few days now (last known installation was Poker Trainer from PokerRoom.com), the phone will just crash completely. The screen goes blank and whatever pixels were on display at the time slowly fade out to nothing.

Then comes the fun bit - it might take up to a day before I can restart it. The phone vibrates once, and then nothing happens. I've tried with and without duo card, sim card and phone charger attached, but no pattern emerges. When I do finally get it on, it will last a few minutes, and then the same thing will hapen.

A software problem or a hardware problem?

Help me please!! this is very infuriating.

PS - I'd like to avoid going to Sony Ericsson centre, this problem happended before but never started again, and it took 2 weeks to get it mended by SE centre.

it sounds like a software problem. can you completely uninstall that application that caused the crash. if you have a program like file manager you can manually remove any files yourself that it was not able to uninstall (beware not to remove important files that the phone needs). failling all this you might have to bite the bullet and go back to SE and get it reflashed if it keeps doing this.

After waiting another day with the phone off (which would seem to indicate that something resets internally after a few hours) I managed to get it on again this morning, and eventually managed to do a master reset (the first attempt was hopeless - halfway through the reset the crash happened again...)

But now up and running again, so far so good.

I'm going to try a back up from my last saved data file - will let you know how it goes.

thanks for response!

.....well I did a restore from previous backup, and that worked too.

Phone back to mormal.

I played Poker Trainer again (see 1st message) and the same thing happened after a while - not so drastic though - it restarted no hitches this time. But it seems I found the culprit. It's a shame cos it's a great game (does anyone else get a crash when they play it?).

For anyone having the same problem, I would suggest it is a software problem, so remember the last thing you installed, and then try and reset phone, then restore if possible, and finally remove the suspect packag
