slight problem with my P900. the flip has gone totally doolally.

some of the keys dont work at all, and pressing some returns very strange results. the "7" key in particular will produce a nice mixture of "7"'s, "#"s, "0"s, and "*"s in a random manor.

i'm pretty sure its a hardware fault and its only just started to happen. although i have had probs with fw (jog dial away not working in flip removed, broke battery indicator and the such)

i've had the flip off and cleaned up the contacts but this hasn't solved the problem.

i'm currenty using my p900 with the flip removed but i send alot of SMS and the flip is by far the easiest way to enter txt.

so guys, what would you do? the phone is insured and under warranty - but i dont want to be without my phone for too long. who here has sent their phone off for repair? how long did you wait?

another option would be to buy a replacement flip, but i'm not sure that would solve the problem (externally flip looks in good nick, so it could be a part of the phone thats at fault) and i dont know how much it would be.

any help welcome!

Sounds like the "Anti-Bounce" circuitry has gone south.

Unless you've spilt something into the keyboard you will probably have to return it.

i'm insured against accidental damage - although i'm sure i've not spilt anything on it.

how much are the flips? - i'll prob have to pay my £25 excess so i might just go out and buy one.

found some flips on ebay but they are £30 each, plus shipping. ended up just taking my phone back to the O2 shop who have sent it off for repairs.

they didn't have any loan phones left tho, so i'm stuck with my old sony j6 for up to 3 weeks!

dont like being without my p900 - has any1 had any problems sending their phones off for repairs?
