I am having trouble finding info about how to setup a proxy for web browsing. I would like to setup a proxy or find an existing one (free or not) that reformats/downsizes html and images for the small screen so that the pages load quicker.

I notice that Netfront has a proxy setting. I know the browser itself already does this but it would be a lot quicker if it was done before all that data has to be sent via GPRS.

Palmone has WebPro that does exactly this. It works awesome on the Treo 600 (this is actually the main reason I still keep the Treo even though I prefer my P900). It is the fastest browser I have ever used via GPRS. It resizes the images and html at the proxy server. This way you only have to receive a much smaller page that is at least 10 times faster in comparison versus when I turn off the proxy.

Any info or leads?

Thanks-

Thanks, I have used it before, but I need one that supports Java script. It would be nice to use the reqwireless proxy on the netfront browser.....

You can also use the internal browser, use this wapgateway ip: 205.242.250.72 on port 9201 and use a 'internet APN' Now you can enter any www adres you want and it will be downsize to +-5kb (note, sometimes this gateway isnt online) one bad thing, it doesn't support images

Thanks a lot, by the way, you mention using a 'INTERNET APN,' so that I take would be something like one of my T-Mobile US APN's like wap.voicestream.com, or my VPN one like internet3.voicestream.com?

Thanks-
