I have 2 email accounts setup to download email every 2 hours. I also have Taskman installed which I use to periodically close all apps. However, if I close the control panel, from taskman, my P900 will only download email from one of the email accoounts. I can still manually download, but I like it to download automatically.

Obviously the solution is to keep control panel running, but I just wanted to know if anyone has come across this, and if so, why does Taskman close the control panel at all?

Cheers

what's control panel got to do with anything. I allways have my control panel closed (sman does that for me), but still the phone checks both of my email accounts every 4 hours.

Cheers for the reply. If I knew what control panel had to do with it, I wouldn't be posting :-)

It worked fine until I installed Taskman yesterday. I then started closing everything down properly after I had finished with it (control panel etc) and this morning I realised it was strange I hadn't received any emails overnight. On checking my accounts, I found that I did have mail, but the p900 had not received it.

After extensive testing today, I have found that if the control panel is closed (I now use Sman instead of Taskman BTW) then the handset will only check one account but not both, unless I check it manually.

On a slight digression, closing control panel with Taskman every time I'd finished with it last night caused my ringtones to revert back to default. I seems control panel may be a fairly important app to keep open.

Cheers

Jabe, after thinking about your reply, I have tested it again only this time using Sman to close everything. I thought I had tried it with Sman but I obviously hadn't. My email is now working properly without control panel open.

Could it be that Sman closes apps down in a nicer way than Taskman?

I believe I read that Sman allows the apps to clean up after themselves before shutting them down.

I've never used Taskman so I don't know how it works, but I'm glad you've sort it out.
