> T630: Faster processor than T610?
Bookmark topic
Hi guys,
Ive spent the entire day reading trough several threads on several forums, regarding the T630.
I currently have a T610, which require service sometime in the near future - however, I dont feel like missing it for 2-3 weeks, and since K700 is not relaesed in Denmark yet, then I figured I would try either a Z600 or T630 meanwhile - and then sell my T610 whenever it comes back from service.
Now, I know that the T610 and T630 are almost identical, despite the differences in LCD's and design. But, I also read somewhere that I guy was told by a reseller, that the T630 has a faster processor than the T610 (think he said it was like 3 times faster...?). Is this true? If yes, that must mean it has the potential to become just a liiiiittle faster in sms writing than T610. How it performs in the menu doesnt matter - all I care about, is how fast/slow the SMS writing is. The T610 was okay in the beginning, specially with R4C firmware - but lately, it has become really slow - in fact, sometime it types in the letters twice, even though I only hit the button once. Annyoing.
Bottom line - faster processor, or, just a little faster sms writing in T630 compared to T610?

I dont think it has a faster processor but has a better OS implementation.

t630 is as slow as t610, maybe 10% faster, z600 is better. Z600 is the best from that category, much more faster.

No - this is not true.
hardware platform (and processor) on T610 and T630 are identical.
Only differences are screentype and design.
plus some software to interpolate pictureresolution of the pictures from the cifcamera to vga directly on the phone, and the myfriends function.
There are no difference in speed when you use the same firmwarerevision. There are no difference in implementation of software - the firmwares are technically the same except for driver for screentype.
Any small difference on speed between these models is based on 2 things only - different firmwarerevisions - and make beleive.

Guys - you're confusing me
1) Better OS implementation (which means?)
2) ie. 10% faster
3) same speed
... now... what to hold on to?
As mentioned earlier - I dont care if its 10% slower, as long as sms writing is a little (maybe 10%) faster than T610
What makes Z600 faster than the other? I was thinking of that phone too - but I dont think I'll like the idea of a clamshell phone- would hate opening and closing it everytime i want to read/write a SMS.

Thanks spawn!
But if the firmware versions are the same - then there would be no speed boost at that point neither.
Well - must admit... Im getting hooked on Z600 at the moment. T630 is a little too expensive just for a better screen.
Could anybody confirm that Z600 is faster than T610 (again, SMS - doesn't need to be rocket faster - just "faster") - as some other user mentioned above?

if it is or seems any faster it is only due to the firmware. it has been proven they are the same. after all, all you have to do is put a t630 LCD on a T610 and flash it to T630 firmware, and you have the exact same thing as a t630, just in the t610's housing. i'm planning on doing this one i gather up the $50 for the t630 LCD.
