I have recently had a problem with the P900 that can be described as a serious power drain. The phone drains a fully chraged battery in about 10-12 hours! I have had the P900 since november and have had somewhat similar symptoms on occation, but not consistently as in the way I had now (=several consequtive chargings and power drains).

As most people I have several 3rd party programs installed. I don't want to blame it, but it seems that the problem started some time after i re-installed Tracker. I could of course be anything else....

I got rid of the problem after doing a master reset through the controlpanel.

Anyone that had similar problem? Or someone that have a proper solution (other than master reset)?

Thanks,

do you mean without touching it? i mean yeah that's normal if you listen to music etc, but if you leave it alone for a day than that certainly isn't normal.....
i guess you should close apps with taskman or something like that (i use sman) but even you have apps working, 10 hrs isn't normal, at least with the screen off that isn't normal, but please specify your daily usage (talk time, play time, music time etc...)

though mine always last at least a day (24h) and i think i use it quite a lot for music and talking...

It drained the battery from 100% to 0% in about 10-12 hours, without using it at all (just minor things). I also used Taskman to close programs etc. Even tried a complete shutdown, removed the battery, then restart. Same problem. I uninstalled most 3rd party apps but the problem remained.

As I said performing a master reset solved the problem. ((And, by the way, I found out that quite a few default files were deleted as well, which is good. The amount of free internal memory when I first got he phone was about 6Mb, but after the master reset I had 11,6Mb... Wow!!))

Still searching for a "proper" solution to the problem...

Have you done the usual check like:

1. No GPRS connection all the time (use GSM mode)
2. BT not left on (however, my experience is that BT does not drain the battery)
3. Minimise additional ring tones etc and other data / apps that are memory resident (like Tracker)

@Jah: Yes, I have had BT off, not used GPRS and uninstalled both Tracker and HandyDay.

As I said, the master reset seems to fix the problem meaning that it probably is tied to some 3rd part app (?) in conflict.

I also flashed the phone with the latest software (before the master reset to no avial....).

The master reset did fix the problem, but it seems like it's the wrong way to go....

My P900 drains from 0% to 5% within a day.

This includes variable Bluetooth operation, relatively intensive music playing, photo-taking and video-recording and also up to 9 minutes worth of calls being made a day.

Though I find this slightly disappointing, I recharge it every night so it doesn't make much difference.
