Is there a list of all the tags that the browser on the T610 understands?
I just realised it doesnt support tables

They do support tables. Well mine does. They support wap2.0, xHTML, and standard wap access.

If you look at it through IE there are tables and background colours there, but on the phone there is just the plain text
Am i doing something wrong?

Along similar lines, I currently have a P800, which is due for upgrade. I love the browsing abilities and screen of it, so the natural choice is the P900, BUT the Z1010 is out soonish. So the question is would I be happy with a Z1010 after using a P800?
