Hi,

I just got my P800 and has the following:

Phone: CXC162002 R1D

Bluetooth: CXC12529 R2C

Organiser: CXC162001 R1G05

CDA: nothing in here? what is this ??

I can't find what changes have been made since and also if its worth paying at least £30 for the upgrade, might even be about £45

someone here will be able to list all the changes, but for peace of mind i'd say go for the upgrade. early versions (such as the R1D you have there) were prone to crashes and memory problems, judging by what I've read here.

my phone came with R2F (the latest version), and works like clockwork.

My P8 used to have R1D & I can only say U've got to get the upgrade for sure!
I had it upgraded to R2F & it's well worth getting. U should notice a LOT of differences, like a new phone with improvements in virtually ALL areas.

But what's all this about the cost? To my knowledge firmware upgrades are, and have always been, FREE!!

wtf?!

I had the FiRST p800 batch and I upgraded the firmware at the SE Center to the latest for FREE!

Dont let them trick you.

I think a call to the official SE center should be made.

AFAIK upgrades should be free as long as the phone is in warranty. Of course you might have to "find" a fault as well! This message was posted from a WAP device

Well I never had to show my receipt when I got mine upgraded.
They let u do the P900 upgrades yourself at home, hardly need a receipt for that so I don't see why there should be any problems.

well in the end i sent it to a SE service centre in southampton.

cost £5 to send it back and that's it

they said they can also clean it for me, as there was a bit of dust under the screen.
