> P900 - SMS Config deleted
Bookmark topic
In a moment of space desperation I deleted all folders below system/mail
Now I cannot send SMS's anymore -
"number to servicesenter missing...." - and I'm not able to choose the SMS config from the messageaccount meny - it's greyed out.
What's the easy way of restoring this? (my backup is 1 week old - so that would be last resort....)

No problem. I use to do that pretty often to get much free space on C. Just tell your ISP to send you all the settings and then install Gprs, mms and sms settings. Keep the Gprs/mms settings in Autokonfiguration. After you installed the settings check where the files is kept in C:System/Mail. Then you can delete all other folders (not the files which is stored in Mail folder) in the future if you are not afraid to lose you sms or sms msg you have in Inbox/Sent and included all the email. You can use MessageStorer from SymbianWare to export all your msg in txt files before delete folders.

It's only MMS / GPRS my phone company can send to me.
I still have to manually register the Servicenumber myself.
This sound a bit strange to me....
The very first time a SIM card is presented to the phone, such SMS info is stored onto the phone if present on the SIM. Should then be possible to "refresh" the phone with the info from SIM card?

The number is known - but it's no use when I cannot enter the number anywhere. The SMS menu is greyed out - not possible to enter anything.
Just did a complete backup - and reset the phone totally - the SMS now worked. Did a restore of my backup - and something there corrupts the SMS configuration...
Is it possible to do a partial restore from a backup? -or delete files from a backup file?

Ok, seems that something went really wrong during your backup. Anyway keep in mind which folders you can delete in Mail folder. I am not sure if itīs possible to restore some parts from a backup but you can open the backup with winzip and see what can be done.
