I just can't seem to sync my P900's calendar with iCal using iSync. iSync connects with my P900 for a brief second and it gets stuck at "Connecting with P900". In the end it tells me that my P900 isn't available so it wasn't able to sync. And when I Browse my cel using Bluetooth File Exchange, it says my P900 doesn't have the necessary services. I am running the latest versions of iCal, iSync and Bluetooth (latest firmware), and have upgraded my P900's firmware as well through SE's site.

Please help!

What version of OSX are you running?

Did you run the Bluetooth set-up and pair the Mac with the P900?

BTW, browsing the P900 content is still sadly lacking; maybe in a future release? It works fine on other SE phones, like the 610/630 but not the Pxxx series.

Hi. I have OS X 10.3.3 installed. Address Book syncs fine. iCal doesn't. I've run the Bluetooth Setup and have paired the two, countless times actually. but everytime they get paired, only "Address Book" and "Connect to Internet" are available as services, and not "Sync with iCal to manage events" or something like that.

Open iSync and click on the P900's icon. Maybe you missed to check the calendars there. If not, we'll find something else to troubleshoot. It's way my bed time now, but I'll check back in a bout 12 hours. Good luck.

hiya, i had problems with synching too my mate told me theres a bug between your automatic keypadlock on the p900 and the isync make sure that is not ticked in: control panel/locks, try that and before synching i pair up from my p900 again control panel/connections/bluetooth/devices, tap on your computer in bluetooth devices and you should get offered to pair up to your pc. i hope this helps and if not sorry and good luck!

linus73 has a point there! Do you have your P900 set to connect to your Mac without confirmation? I strongly suggest you check that optin (under BT devices) so you don't need to look at it and confirm that you accept the connection. You do want them to communicate, don't you?

Having the auto key-lock on only makes it a bit more annoying.

Just configured my friend's P900 and her powerbook. I was kinda worried cuz of all the horror stories of iSync and the P900.

Her T68i was getting dated and was having the weird addressbook glitch where numbers couldn't be seen, but would appear if that persn called.

So now that she just got a P900... I helped her connect everything via Bluetooth and synced everything... worked flawlessly with everything right off the bat.

Only problem we encountered was that the BT dongle had to be unplugged and plugged in again... I think it got stuck somewhere during the pairing. But that was it.

Ok, finally I was able to sync iCal, and have continually done so. I did two things, although I don't know which actually enabled iSync to connect to my P900 and not time out. First I reinstalled all apps concerned: iCal and iSync. Then on my P900, i uninstalled Salling Clicker (I hope this isn't the culprit!). And then, I set the P900's Cable settings from "PC connect" to "Modem". I then restarted everything, set up a new Bluetooth pairing between my Powerbook and my P900 (pairing initiated by the Powerbook), inputted test appointments on iCal and the P900 and synch'd the two, and this time the Bluetooth connection stayed and the two devices synch'd! I added other appointments and tasks on the P900 as well as iCal and synch'd again. Another success. So I guess that's it. Problem fixed, although I don't really know how. I'm going to install Salling Clicker again and see if that's what caused the problem in the first place, although I doubt it. I just hope I don't run into any more syncing problems! Now I can trash my Palm Desktop! And thanks for all your help, people!

Hi, I recently moved from Windows XP to Mac OS X 10.3.4 and could not believe this would mean losing my capability to use my P800 as a Pda.
I can't synch ical.
I have tried your tips in this discussion (I haven't reinstalled everything, no) but still I experience this in my log.

"10:57:44 Connecting to frP800
10:58:12 Synchronizing calendars and To Do items
11:06:46 Error |frP800| frP800 is low on memory. Please remove some data from the device and sync again.
11:06:46 Error Conduit frP800 generated exception NSSyncConduitException: frP800 is low on memory. Please remove some data from the device and sync again..
11:06:46 Error can't connect to the device to synchronize frP800.
11:06:46 Getting all calendars and To Do items from Backup Conduit
11:06:58 calendars: 9 added
11:06:58 events: 536 added
11:06:58 To Do items: 18 added
11:06:58 Getting all calendars and To Do items from iCal
11:07:08 calendars: 9 added
11:07:08 events: 536 added
11:07:08 To Do items: 18 added
11:07:22 Completed synchronizing calendars and To Do items
11:07:33 Synchronization complete"

what I in the dialog box is that it starts downloading and when it gets to 17K it stops and does god knows what for quite a while and then just comes out with synchronization failed. (This has been happening countless times, the only difference is that for a while it stopped at 16k rather than 17...)
The message I get follows.

"Thursday, 3 June 2004 11:07
|frP800| frP800 is low on memory. Please remove some data from the device and sync again.
Conduit frP800 generated exception NSSyncConduitException: frP800 is low on memory. Please remove some data from the device and sync again..
can't connect to the device to synchronize frP800."

I swear there's very little on my P800 and I've also canceled all messages and a large number of contacts.
I've also asked the isync to not sync before a week ago.

I was counting on using the phone to move my things from Windows to Mac and I could not, I've done it by hand. But now, how do I keep them in synch?

Thanks for any tip guys,

Francesca

Francesca:

My guess is that the problem lies in the fact that you are trying to sync with your Mac, after having already sync'ed with a PC in the past. This was a problem for me too, as I was hoping to sync back and forth to both platforms. However, when I dug around in the tech. support on Apple's website, I encountered a document that said you might encounter problems syncing to your Mac if you'd already sync'd to a PC.

What I ended up doing was doing a master reset on my p800, then transferring all my contacts and calendar from my PC to Mac directly (I can't remember exactly how now-- I assume I exported to text file and then imported). Then, I did a fresh virgin iSync back to the p800. Ever since then, I have been able to sync flawlessly with my Mac.

I don't know if any of this applies to your situation. Keep us posted on your progress. I promise you Mac to p800 sync'ing is possible!
