hi everyone, was really hoping someone could help me.

I have just bought a p800, and also a belkin bluetooth adapter. I have connected my phone to my computer but I haven't managed to set up the bemused application correctly, I keep getting time out or bluetooth error messages so i really want someone to help take me through setting it up because obviously im too lazy to get up out of bed to change song on my pc.

As i said, I just need someone who has done it on their phone to talk me through it.

Thankyou

First of all, you need to pair your phone with your PC. This is doen quite simply by using your Bluetooth software on your PC and scan for devices. You should have an icon on your desktop called My Bluetooth Places. Right click on that and select 'Add new device'. If that's not an option, go into your Bluetooth Neighbourhood and find yourself a similar button to the one I just mentioned. Insert PIN code on both the desktop and the phone (whatever code will work as long as they're the same on both PC and phone) and you have created a pairing between the devices.

After that, click on the Phone Connection Link icon in the system tray and to make sure that there are available Bluetooth com-ports. They're available if they're not checked. If not, you might have to go in to the Advanced Preferences of your Bluetooth software, click on the tab 'Local Services' and locate the button 'Add serial service'. When you've added a COM port, e.g. COM5, launch the Bemused Server application on your desktop. Use its wizard to set it up properly (it's an easy process) and press the Connect button. If it says 'COM-port in use', make sure that you've selected the COM-port you just added in the Advanced Preferences window. That one will be ready for use.

Anyway, the key is to have a free COM-port that isn't in use by any other application (and quite a good way of making sure it's not in use is by adding a new one manually ). When Bemused Server is connected, launch the Bemused client on your phone and connect to your desktop computer. If successful, it will drop a message saying something like "Bemused Server found on channel ".

I hope this helps, cause my fingers are sore now.

Sorry for making your fingers sore, but at least i can be even more lazy now.

Is there any other aspects of bemused I'm missing, can you do much else with it?

Not that I know of. On Nokia cellphones, Bemused has a feature of pausing the music on your PC whenever you receive a call. However, this does not work on Symbian UIQ (yet).
