Called Sony-Ericsson customer service, and they said the only service center is in North Carolina. So how/where is everyone here getting their firmware updated?

Sorry, forgot to mention that. T610 with R1S001 firmware (from October '03).

There is only 1 service center in the united states, and a few service points. Unfortunately SE does not disclose the whereabouts of its service points in the US.

I recommend that everyone make suggestions to SE to announce its local service points.

The guy at the T-mobile kiosk in the mall told me he thought there was an SE center in Milbrae or somewhere near there, south of San Francisco. Anyone hear of this? I will look further into this possibility and report.

"Uncustomized"? Do you mean back to the generic SE menus and all? I have T-mobile service and I am not aware of how different their menus are from the plain vanilla SE. I have mostly seen people on this forum talking about uncustomizing from their Vodaphone versions. Although I realize that at least some of the menus in the T-mobile phone must be custom since the phone needs to support the "T-zones" functions, I am at this time only looking to upgrade the generic firmware of my T-610 so it will hopefully quit freezing up every now and then.

Funny thing is rickpaul (who posted in this same thread) = globalmob.com , and yet he didn't say here that they are the service point. Go figure.

I kept that out to keep the integrity of the post. Otherwise, there could be a conflict of interest

So... Rick, I will be down in SoCal in 2 or 3 weeks. Can I just stop in and get my f/w upgraded? Or, what is the deal?
