I tried to download a game to my p800 & it said unrecognized format no viewer can be found on your device to open this file what does this mean can someone help me please

What file type was it?
The phone will still let u to save it anyway whatever it is, usually in Documents/Unfiled. From there u can retrieve it later, transfer to PC, unzip or just change it's file extension.
It all depends on what file type it is that you are trying to d/load.
