I foolishly replied to one of those 'spoof' emails that really did look genuine, asking for various details including my user name and password. Seems blindingly obvious now, but at the time I was sucked in big time!

My account got taken over by these idiots, along with my email address to boot, and tried selling a motorbike on it (which probably didn't exist anyway!). Ebay suspended my account, and it took a couple of hours swapping emails, an online chat with one of their tech guys, and changing a load of passwords before I eventually got my account back . Bloody fraudsters!

You gave them the password...
Why do you complain? NEVER EVER EVER give a password to anyone you don't know!

I receive a lot of emails telling me to "update" my paypal or ebay details and if you click the link and look at the address bar, it has nothing to do with neither of them.

i always get them too, i nvr reply

but i can understand how people get sucked in

anyway there was no harm done in the end

im just so glad i wasnt stupid enough to send the phone out - that would be £500 down the drain

the little git is still emailing me too - saying paypal have reversed the payment and he is going to sort it out - my arse - any excuse

i must have had a dumb moment, I'm normally very good about things like that! I've had a couple more since, and haven't replied to them. At least it didn't cost me anything, and it meant that some other bugger got all my spam for a few days!
