I wonder where the "this is why you should never post your photo on internet" thread has gone ...

I think members are given alot of freedom to express all variety of views and opinions within Esato. You only need to look at all the mobile phone free and garbage forums to see that.

Clearly there are topics that cannot be discussed on Esato due to the general member base we have which consists of people all ages, also for legal reasons (warez, cracks, keygens etc), and many other reasons too.

I am not sure which political threads you are referring to specifically but threads are generally locked due to flaming, going off topic, if they are duplicate and for other reasons but not because of any personal difference of opinion that a moderator might have with what is being discussed. Any thread, not just political ones, in which any of this happens is likely to receive the same treatment.

Lets also not lose the focus that the forums on Esato are primarily for mobile phone discussion and member help. However we are also a friendly community so these non mobile related forums are provided for the discussion of all sorts of other topics of general interest, but there has to be some limits and some moderation, even in the garbage forum.

@Jim, I don't know if you saw the pictures in the last couple of pages of the "The sick pictures thread(formerly known as Why you shouldn't put your photo on the internet )" but it was hardly appropriate material for Esato and the pictures were just getting worse and worse.

No sorry it dissapeared after I came back, so I thought it was about the star wars kid, which I couldn't see why because a search on esato had given me lots of results of the "kid" ... but now I see it, thanks for the clarification

I think u know very well which political thread I have meant.
I know the Esato forum is primarly the forum about mobile phones, but
why dont talk about something different for example - torture of iraqis
prisoners, the thread you have been locked.
Btw I am very happy to Esato forum ! It is the best forum on the web.

thank you

when I said I didn't know which thread you meant, I wasn't lying.

you said political and I was thinking along the lines of government issues rather than an iraqi thread. but now I do know which one you mean and I gave my reasons there why it was locked. You were welcome to continue in the existing iraqi thread as there is only a need for one such thread.

this was nothing personal to you and as I mentioned in my previous reply in this thread, we do tend to lock duplicate threads

btw, members are always welcome to send a friendly PM to the moderators if they disagree with any action taken so that the reasons can be discussed

Also, its excellent that despite this complaint you are still very happy with the forums
