I like when people hang up their phones by closing the lid. It's a hell of alot easier than clicking a button like on my T616. I want to upgrade to a Z600 or Z1010 (not sure which yet) but I live in the US. I currently have a T616 w/ SIM card with the Cingular provider. If I purchase a SE Clamshell am I able to slide my SIM card in there and start using my service automatically? Or are their other things I'd have to do.

Also, is $289.00 good for a Z600? Are they any good? I know they have the same OS as the T610. I also want to know, has anyone done this in the US because there's also a difference in bandwidth and stuff for particular phones and I want to make sure my service supports that bands the Z600 is compatible with.

I used the search function to try and answer my question and was unsuccessful, if there are any threads that you can think of off hand please link me. Thanks.

Also, are there any U.S. companies that sell unlocked cellphones online? I don't feel 100% secure purchasing off of Ebay.

@exile - For an SE brand flip/type or clamshell fone, certainly an SE Z600 is a nice one. If given other choices, Samsung has an array of nice clamshell fones as well . . . I guess majority of the fones they are releasing now are flip-types (?).

the sim card should work fine in any gsm mobile (not sure about 3g handsets though). as for frequencies, i don't know what is used by cingular in your area but you can get comparison of the t616 and z600 at the link below (found from the Mobile Phones link on the esato homepage).

Can someone answer why everyone is buying the T630 right now? When I first read about it, it didn't seem much difference than the T616.

Reasons are Apple look, TFT screen, my friends feature and interpolated CIF mode. This message was posted from a WAP device

The Z600 i think works with cingular, a friend bought a V400 on a Cingular store and activated it here, using GSM 1900. The Z600 works on GSM 1800 and 1900 (not sure about the other, 800 or 900 i think).

Nice phone, very easy to use and small.
