> firmware update? HELP! now what?
Bookmark topic
could someone tell me what i am entitled to as a "privileged person" with a SE phone, in this case a t610, as far as firmware updates go?
i bought my phone 8 months ago, on a vodafone 2 year contract.
Can they update it?
i supose they wont completly flash it to any company, but an update would be nice.
Anyone in spain know where i could get it flashed??
thanks in advance.

Go to a Special SE Centre, becouse if you go to your operator, probably they will sent it to SE and you will be without mobile for a while... on an SE Center they do it on the hour!!

well, yes, in an ideal world i would do that, but the problem is the nearest service center is in barcelona (120km from where i live).
So i will have to do it via vodafone, which defenitly means no complete flash
now i have R1A081
is it worth the hassle to have it upgraded?

its defniitly worth upgrading from that first firmware version. alot of bugs in that
on the other hand if you have not experienced those bugs perhaps not
on the other hand for resale value if the buyer is knowledgable its worth getting it done under warranty when it should be free
hope I helped

operation update stage 2.
today i have been to the shop where i got my t610, and coincidencially to pick up my brothers motorola c350 from repair.
I asked the shop attendents (2 very attractive ladies).
I mentioned the word firmware, and they looked at me confused...so i explained myself. They said that they could do anything to help, hense they only deal directly with nokia, they have no buisness relation with any other company, and that the repairs and stuff go to another company that has nothing to do with any phone fabricant.
So i left, a bit confused, with the c350. When i got home, i read the repair sheet of the motorola (says all the defects and how they were solved), and to my suprise, one of the proceedures to fix is was "update firmware"!!!
i think i will go back tomorrow...
moral of the story: girls cant be attractive and intelligent, and if they are, the are way out of my reach or even my knowlege.

i would, but unless im mistaken, that would involve buying a special dongle etc, which is a bit expensive seeing as i should be able to have it done for free.
but i will take that in to consideration if i cant find any other solution

Yeah I'm abt to buy one, its about 25 USD for one on ebay. Beats having to drive over to an SE center (which we have none of in California)
