I have set up my P800 to retrieve my e-mails. I have set it up correctly however when I try and connect I get the error Activation rejected and nothing happens! However, my GPRS connection is fine as I can access the web.

Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it please?

welcome to Esato

when you say you can access the web, is that with opera or with the built in browser?

"Activation rejected" is a network error
We had it at work the other day and everyone was wandering around looking glumly at their phones

I dont know what causes it (GPRS over-subscribed? transmitter down?) but there doesn't seem to be anything you can do.

The only thing that might work is powering off for 30 seconds and then back on again. You might another transmitter, you might not.

I am using the in built browser.

For my internet settings o2 sent me auto set up message that set up 3 internet accounts called GPRS, O2 MMS and O2 WAP GPRS. I use the GPRS connection to try and access me e-mails.

The problem you described happens from time to time, I find that it usually resolves itself after a period of time.

I'm not sure. I set up my e-mail settings this morning and have not been able to to get it to work. When it says activation rejected above it, it says problem copying messages.

This makes me think that the connection forms but there is a problem with copying the messages onto my phone.

If you get "Activation Rejected" *first* it means your phone can establish a GPRS connection, if you then get "Problem copying messages" it means it couldn't copy the files because your account is set for GPRS and it cant make a GPRS connection

Have you tried powering off for 30s and then back on?

This does happen from time to time with GPRS. It might be an over-used GSM/GPRS location, bad time of day, or just a glitch. It usually resolves itself after a few minutes or if I power off and try again.

It was kind of disconcerting at first, though.
