I recently brought a brand new t68i and have been charging it correctly but the standby/talktime readings the phone gives is inaccurate at times.

Sometimes it says 10hrs of talktime. When I make a call it goes down to 8hrs (after 2 mins of talk) but then it goes up to 11hrs sometimes.

I used to have a t68i phone before and it also used to do that.

is that normal?

It is not very accurate - I believe that is why they removed it from T610 etc

ok,

also I noticed the back cover/battery is unstable, it keeps moving slightly (and making a creeky noise) whenever I press the keys

have you guys experienced that too?

The algorithm for calculating the remaining standby- and talktimes has to take a lot of parameters into consideration: The distance to the closest sender/receiver, the temperature, the battery capacity, the standby- and talktimes ratio, ...

Taking that into consideration you realize that it's extraordinarily difficult to make an accurate calculation. At the very best it gives you an indication.

If it's normal? Yes, it is.

the standby and talktime is affected by network conditions esp. what type of cellsite (900/1800/1900). some cellsite consumes little power compared 2 others. ;-) This message was posted from a T68i

I think u don't get a simple matter: that "calculator" besides the fact that it depends of a lot factors like the guy above said it works "at the moment": that is when u talk for half a hour, the system re-analizes the factors and gives u less talk time and standby time as it is normal...u 've drained it for half an hour.I'd love this feature in my T610.

yeah but sometimes with the t68i when u talk for 1/2 hours, it shows a higher reading for talk time left when it should go down.

it keeps going up and down (the readings)

That's cuz the battery heats-up and the meter can't indicate normally. The drainage is too big at the moment that's why the readings go up instead of down.Just wait a few minutes after u make the one hour call and u'll see the readings comin' back2normal. Now i think u r too purist about it...
