Hello everyone!

I would like to know if someone has some experience from using the 3G phone Nec e616 as a MP3-player? Because here in Sweden "3" has a veeery good offer now and I'm thinking of buying a Nec e616, and since e616 supports MS Duo cards and I have a card from my SE P800 I would like use the e616 as a MP3-player. How does the changing track and volume buttons work? Do you have to open the whole phone to change the track or volume or is it possible to do with some external buttons?

Thanks in advance!

I have no idea about it's capability as an MP3 player but I don't think it will support MS Duos. I'm not sure if it has any external memory support but if it does I reckon it won't be Sony's MemoryStick®

Also remember it's battery life is really bad as a phone so it'll have no chance as an MP3 player!

I don't think u'd be able to control anything with the phone closed either.

Don't quote me on any of this as I'm not sure but it's just what I thought so I may be wrong

It does support mem duo. I just ordered the lower e313 model. So I will see what it is like. Should be delivered in a week or 2.

Thank you very much for the answer! The Nec e616 does actually support MS Duo cards so theres no problem with that, but your point with the really bad batterylife was very good!

I'm surprised if it can use Sony's MS Duo, I would have thought it'd be SD Memory Cards or something like that

Well, I have an mp3 file on my Motorola A835, but then I am on 3 UK which is slightly different. Also had to transfer it from my PC (for reasons stated in another thread) maybe 3 Sweden are banning the downloading of mp3 files (that's if they don't have the walled garden approach like we do in the UK at the moment)

Why would 3 suddenly ban MP3 files and how come only in Sweden. That doesnt sound so realistic to me. And how would the by able to ban it?

ive got the 313... mp3 downloads banned... im on 3 in denmark..
Dont think the battery is that bad on mine... actually 313 and 616 is the same phone.. they are just slightly different
u control the mp3 player with the 5way rocker key:
up/down: volume
left/right: shift track/fwd/rw
enter: play/pause
u can minimize any program on the nec by pressing and holding down the menu key. u can then choose between the different progams that u are running, like in windows (alt+tab), works great
