Just to let you lot know, during the many hours I spent playing around with my phone when I first got it. You can view most of the files in the C:\ of your phone by opening the built in web browser.
Don't think it is any help to anyone, but: Open web browser and goto "Open page", delete everything in the box so it is blank. Then type exactly (without speech marks!) "file:///c:/" Then you can look through the directory at the files although most don't open (configuration files, etc) but you can download most files and save them to memory stick.
You can do the same for d:\ ("file:///d:/)
