if u take your phone to SE repair centre for fw upgrade, do u lose your data on phone?
what about data on sim card? e.g. contacts?

I lost all my phone numbers, themes, ringtones and anything else you've added to the phone yourself. Luckily I backed up the phonebook and messages before I sent mine off. As for things on the sim card, they'll stay. (Because you don't send your simcard off).

Not unless they go through deleting things off your simcard. Bit weird they want your simcard though, I only had to send phone and battery away. But you'll most likely lose everything you've added to your phone (Excluding simcard) and it will be back at the state when you bought it.

I take mine to Carphone Warehouse to have my firmware updated. Ive had it done 3 times in the past year, for free, since the phone is still in its years warranty.
Each time they've done it, they told me i'd probably lose all my contacts, files and settings.. yet when i got my phone back I HADNT LOST ANYTHING.
Maybe im just lucky.

I took mine CPW and they didn't even touch the phone, just sent it back a month later without upgrading it or anything. At least when I sent my T610 off they did upgrade the firmware, but it didn't fix the problem I told them about.

BTW- with T68i phones, you dont lose your contacts and other info on the phone. Thats what the SE engineer guy told me.
