I've just got a 7210 witha faulty LCD, and installed a new one into the phone, and was somewhat annoyed and amused in the same measure to find that although the screen worked, the display is 'mirrored'! When you go into the phone's menus, for example where it shoud say 'alarm clock', it says it backwards. The colours also are out, blue comes out as red, and vice versa for example. The buttons are as they would be if the screen was normal (i.e. 'menu' still works as it should, despite it saying 'names' backwards above it!). Looking at the phone's display in the mirror makes everything look okay, except for the colouring. I've made sure the screen is placed firmly into it's housing, and plugged into the main PCB securely.
As you can understand, this situation would make texting a bit on the tricky side, and playing games totally impossible! Would this be caused by the LCD (Which I don't think is an original Nokia one), or would it be a problem with the phone? Like some other damage that may have occured when the LCD was damaged, or a software problem? Any help appreciated!

I'm pretty sure I put it together properly!
I bought this phone basically to fix up and sell, phone LCDs are very simple to replace, especially on Nokias!

They may be many things, but Nokias are simple to take apart and fix (apart from the 7650, grrr!

)
I've literally just had an email back from the seller of the display, who seems to think it's a problem with the display, and is going to exchange it!

Hooray!

Nokia's are built quite cheap anyway. Cheap plastics and finishes. Kinda reminds me of the old skool ericssons! :-D

I've got a couple of old GA628s as well as u mention it!
From the little I've fiddled with the phone, it does feel a bit cheap & nasty, and the menus r a bit slow. Definately sticking 2 my p800 I'm on now!
