The battery of my T68 seems to perform really bad. Even if I use the phone seldomly (maybe 30 minutes aday on average), GPRS always off, 20 SMS a day (quite normal I guess) my battery is already at half charge in 24 hours and it never lasts more than 48 hours. Also the battery status on the status menu is totally unreliable ... fully charged it says standby time >200 hours, talk time > 10 hours ... rapidly dropping. Is this normal or is my battery defective? Thanks!

Is your phone new?

When I got my T68, the battery indicator was a little unpredictable. One time the "batter-low" warning was running for about 48 hours.

I've had the T68 for more than two months, and it seems like it's measuring more accurate over time.

my battery indicator also was whery unpredictable but it will be more accurate over time. if your phone says 200h standby when fully charged you should run the battery down untill the phone switches of by it self....that resets the "standby counter".
also if you charge it 2-3 nights in a row...use it by day and charge by night....the power of the battery increases also!!my phone has been on for 48 hours and it says 245 left and i have used it regulary...in the begining i also had a standby for like 48 hours!!!!

Hi,
My battery is even worst since the last few days it last 10 houres max: no GPRS, no SMS, no Games.
Ericsson said maybe the soft has to be upgrade, fine but ....

Ericsson needs to avoid this bad publicity.

I don't face such problem with my battery.
It can last me for 3 days...without a need to charge. Even when it indicates that the battery is low, the phone can still last for a 30 mins conversation time....
Probably those who do face problem, should go to Ericsson service center and get their battery replace.
Cheers!

My 68 is about 4 weeks old. I recently charged it overnight then switched it off when I took out the charger (indicating fully charged). 4 hrs later I switched the phone on and the indicator was telling me the battery was 50 % discharged ! I then checked the talk time then whent back to the main screen....the indicator was showing empty !!

I would imagine the monitor is at fault here, although I have noticed that once or twice the display light (backlight?) remained on after I switched the phone off.

If you have early software that could very well be part of the problem. Update the software and you should see some difference. I heard somewhere that it was part of the update on R2A. Also, turn off the Bluetooth from Automatic to OFF. And make sure your Backlight is set on Automatic not on. Both were defaults on and ware the battery down quickly.

If you have problems with hanging GPRS like I have had, that drains the battery quickly...
...problem is solved with R2A!

I've tried the following:
-Recharged the battery 20+ times
-Checking the battery at a service center (battery was 100%)
-Turning off bluetooth, background lighting
-Upgrading to R2A sw

The battery capacity is still 2 days max! This is the worst phone I've owned when it comes to battery capacity...
