I am expecting delivery of my first P900 in a couple of days, any advice on what to unload or anything to download and install from day one? Any advice on improving battery life from day one and anything else in general you guys wish you had done but did not from day one screen protectors cases in other words any handy tips.

Thats the first thing I did, I had the screen protector before the phone, a stylist has never ever touched my screen!

give it a good charge.
resist the urge to start playing with it in your bed, LEAVE IT ON THE CHARGER, best if you charge it all night.
then drain it to 2% or less (yes, that's adrenaline in your system), then charge overnight again. will help you get good batterylife lateron.

and don't drop it.
