I'm trying to receive my email on my P900. I'm on O2 UK (not very impressed with so far - should have stayed with Orange!!) and my email account is with PlusNet. Think I've tried all the settings but can't connect. Can't find the answer on the forums either. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many Thanks

Thanks for the response. DJPowelly - How do I do that then, will it cost me per minute??

Jezzaj - O2 customer service is absolutely shocking! The email help never works, so you ring them like they ask you to only to be on hold for an hour! Also had no probs with my email on Orange, nothing but problems with O2. They took 3 weeks to port my number across then sent me a bill for £30 for a number I wasn't using! Sent them a nice snotty letter 2 weeks ago with no reply - their customer complaint review centre must be extremely busy!
STAY WITH ORANGE - MOVING IS THE WORST THING I'VE EVER DONE!!

The dial-up number is 915000. If you are on an Online package then it is free for x number of minutes per month (varies depending on whether you are contract or PAYG). If you are on a High Street package (O2 Store, CPW etc.) then it costs 10p per minute.

The dial-up profile might be set up already in your phone as "O2 WAP GSM" or something like that. If it is, then you just need to select it. If it's not then go to the WAP config utility on the SE site and choose:

Country/Region: United Kingdom
Mobile Network: O2 UK
Data Connection Type: GSM/CSD
Mobile Phone:
WAP Service Provider: O2 WAP GSM

Then enter your mobile number and the settings will be sent to it.

Is this 'plusnet' actually a pop3 e-mail service that you can access via the likes of a program like outlook express, or is it a web based e-mail?

If it's a web based e-mail, the really the only way to collect that e-mail would be via looking at it over the internet on your P900.

If it's a pop3 e-mail, then there's no reason that you shouldn't be able to access the e-mail address. Just use O2's GPRS internet gateway for e-mail, if they have one setup. I know Orange have a gateway (orangeinternet, as apposed to orangewap), specifically for this purpose.

mycare@o2mail.co.uk is o2's email. Put "get it right" in subject for a quicker response.

That response will most likely be an idiot who knows nothing though. I've just been told o2 doesn't offer GPRS on payandgo, only on contract. So I just imagined using it for the last year
