It's a kind of "quality assurance" for programs to be used with Px00. The "exciting" thing about it is that developers will need to spend minimum 350 USD plus 560 Euros for obtaining the certificate for each their applications (see the link above for these figures). So, this initiative will either not work - or increase the software prices dramatically. Might appear as a stupid move by Symbian and SE...

It does not affect it (as long as SE does not change something in the future). You know, when you install an application, the installer warns you that the application is not signed. Certified applications will not display that warning at installation time, that's all. I can't see what'
s the big deal all about this - except SE/Symbian earning money.
