carry a borttle of windex and a polishing cloth
dont let any one else touch your phone
place latex around your ear and side of face where phone touches your face and leaves grease marks
wrap phone in latex

My painting operation didnt go as well as I had planned, and After I bought a Torque 9 and disassembled my P8 I realized I didnt have to, and reassembled.

Why not simply put a dust jacket over your phone. Dunno if it is available in your region but around here u can easily get em. They are made of transparent polythene and are quite tight fitting , hence are not that noticeable.

The paintwork on my P800 is (was) very smooth.
I did the paint job at work so I was forced to leave it over night, wich is what I would recomend.
I've been playing around with my camera and got a coupple of pics where the gloss shine in the paint work showes:
