I have two lines on my orange sim but when I use the card in a non orange handset I can't select Line 2. Anyone know if there is a way around this?

Depends entirely on the handset and if it supports two calling lines.

Luckily with all Ericsson mobiles there is support - just wont beable to hold down hash to swap lines like an offical orange phone.

I use T68 from Voda with orange on the virgin tariff.... too cheap not to. Everyday 50 for 30p a day on line 2....

Would Orange do it for me if I asked them? When I rang last night they seemed quite upset that I'd dared to use a handset other than the one I got with the contract!

Hi i actually work for Orange and yes everything people have posted up till now is right. Orange program their software on thier phone to be able to use line 2. As for the 8310 i doubt you will be able to find one that does...if you are you will be lucky. I had nearly ten 8850's before i found one that supported line 2! Orange will not add software to your phone. They will simply tell you that they do not recommend you using an Orange sim in a sim free phone, so they cant guarentee all services/features will work.

It should be possible to switch to line 2 from the shortcuts menu, if the option is not there then you can select edit shortcuts and add it to the shortcut list.
I had to do this to my Orange T68m which i just had the MMS software updated on as the upgrade caused it to disapear.

all nokia fones support line 2 (new models ie 8210/8310 etc) but the menu/software is not enabled. two ways it can be enabled 1- by network operator normally only done if the fone is purchased from them ie orange sim lock crap 2 is to use a program to activate it, several are available but the best probably is logomanager ( can only be done on full or cracked version not demo) load logomanager up connect either with cable or infra red and then press and hold ctrl ,alt and S this will enable full features ie line 2 . if you havent got logomanger full or cracked download from wwwmudboy.web3.cz/. hope this has helped you ps has any1 got dct4 unlocking soft yet ??
