> Problem with SE T310 and repair centre
Bookmark topic
First of all, hello everyone.
Basically, I was looking for some advice regarding my phone.
Recently, my T310's keyboard just stopped working most of the time, so I figured I would call the customer service number for what to do. They told me to send the phone to a service centre through in Glasgow, who apparantly would repair it on their behalf.
A few days later I received my phone back, with no work having been carried out on it, with the accompanying note saying that the repair was not 'economically viable', or some similar nonsense, due to 'liquid damage'. Now I checked their defination of this damage, and I can categorically state that I have kept my phone completly safe all the time, meaning the damage must be due to shoddy workmanship.
Here's the problem; I feel that I would be doing myself a disservice by not complaining more about this to sony ericsson, but I'm not entirely sure what the best way to go about it is.
I mean, really, the fact that a huge multi-billion pound corporation is unwilling to reair a phone that is under warranty is frankly ridiculous to me.
So: any adivce? Also, anyone had a similar problem?
Ta very much

complain bitterly to any body within sony ericsson who will hear you. Write a letter to the director of se.
The only flaw is that our defernition of liquid damage and there's is different, ie ours is that that the phone has got wet dropped in a glass or puddle or whatever. Theres is it has got damp inside ie it has been in a humid enviroment or used in damp conditions.

Hi,
well I could help you out differently..I had some Problems with my Z 600 and got the damn thing replaced 3 times without any hassles,
Firstly tell me a couple of things:
1) do you frequetly stay in a room with A/C.
2) The place you live, is damp or the air is humid
3) How long ago did u purchase your phone.
4) Is your phone exposed to dust any time or conditions.
With my Nokia 3530 which was dripping wet with rain water, I used a hair dryer to dry it up and then opened the insides to clean the keypad connections with tooth brush and Spirit and it was running good..
In my opinion you should take it some other repair shop( Def cheaper to get repaired then buy a new phone)and if its still under warranty..!
Secondly try to hair dry the phone and leave it in a dry place for a couple of days should do the trick.
You can send an email using Global support on the sony ericsson website,
Hope this works for you

1. Nope
2. Nope
3. About 9 Months
4. Nope
I sent them an email, but all I got was an automated reply saying I should call customer services, which I already had.
Problem is, according to SE, the only repair centre in Scotland is he one I sent the phone to previously, but I'm a little dubious as to whether there are othr places I could send it.
Thanks,
Joe

You have every right to complain and demand for repair (or replacement) of your unit provided that the problem was not brought out by its abuse/mis-use in your part.
Go to your dealer, talk to your local SE office.

Well the fact is that if they say is liquid damaged, i think they know what they talk about...u can probably see the begining of the rust in there, on the mainboard. So, if u take it to anotha center for example they'll see it too.I don't know what to say, i had a phone diein' on me cuz i was talking too much while being in the bathroom with the hot water runin'...in time, some components or the mainboard got a bit rusted i think and my phone died of...."liquid damage" the way they put it. So, u r right and they r right...try geting a better phone for example...the cheaper they r, the easier they..fall
