GSM I presume, not CDMA?
You'd be best off buying a phone that supports both 850 and 1900 mhz band if you are going to use it mainly in the Americas (on GSM) Like T228 (if that's the right model number...)

Yup! It would definitely an SE T68i! Cheap indeed, since it is already an old model. If given other choice, a Nokia 7250 is a good suggestion as well, old model, cheaper price.
