> help mga pinoy! regarding bills smart addict/gold

i created a separate page to consider the wappers surfing pinioy chitchat, im targeting the online PC users...
take a look at this bill as example
as you can see there's this part where it says CHARGES IN THIS BILL
before the total it says
ADDICT MOBILE PLAN (for period 04/05/04 - 05/04/04)
this means you're paying in advance for next month ba (which obviously says so or im getting dumb) or what?
in this bill ang total na nagamit lang nya without the "800 pesos for period 04/05 - 05/04" is P516, tama po diba?
now if he did not go over the 800 peso limit dapat 800 lang bayaran nya. which is for "period 04/05 - 05/04" take note that the above statement of account is for period 03/05/04 - to 04/04/04
here's my question pa, why is it then called postpaid if i already paid 800 in advance?
pasencya na po at stupid.
now lets say i had 516 as excess of the 800 plan, would it be advisable to get the plan 1200 instead? at least 516+800 is 1,316.
that amount, 1316 minus consumable 1200 is 216... right? add it to 1200 (advance for next month) is 1,416.
but the perks naman of having a 1200 plan is that in excess of 250 txt messages you are billed .50 pesos per text while plan 800 is still one peso.
so it means that if the 216 pesos excess ko sa plan 800 ay textmessages iconvert ko sa plan 1200 which is half this value, 108.
so 1200+108 = 1,308 hmmmm, did i answer my own question??
for plan 1200, 1200php divided by 0.5php is 2400 text messages
as opposed to plan 800, consumable 800 php which is equivalent lang to 800 text messages...
i rest my case... any other opinions??

i think you made a good analysis of that bill...
but let me tell you something more that i hope will clarify your mind...
that bill was actually my "transition" bill from addict plan 500 to addict plan 800...
if you will notice, the free allocation ("Less: ...") for that particular billing period is the free allocation of Addict 500.
But the advance payment (Php800) for the next month is for Addict 800...
now your issue about paying 1 month advance...
i agree that your right about "why call it postpaid when i pay in advance?"
when you analyze it, it's really prepaid in a sense that you have already paid for the service, and your just "consuming" it for the next monthly billing period...
anyway, this is just "legalistic goobledygook", and i suggest that you just forget about it cos it's just like the question "Who Came First? Chicken or Egg...?", wherein there in no other perfect answer except everyone's own personal interpretation...
the only thing about "postpaid" is that you get more benefits like:
1) more free allocation,
2) a billing statement which shows details of ur usage, and
3) the option of using your service even without money (i.e. you don't really have to "pay" for usage you've already consumed, but of course, that's why they have the credit limit so that you cannot abuse that privilege)
anyway, i'm sorry but i'm kinda busy nowadays, and i would like to explain more, but time ran out, so... more power to you! knowledge is power, and i hope you'll continue sharing your knowledge with others...
maybe i can get back to you in the future and explain further...

with all those legal gibberish, just enjoy the present plan you have or your incomin plan 1200.The consumable plan of addict 1200 is much better for heavy gprs users than the regular addict which after the php 500 credit value, additional data volumes are charged as an add-on. With the consumable 1,200, after your 150 credit value for gprs/mms only, everything else is deducted from your consumable 1,200 peso value.
On the other hand, if your are of the talk and text type, the regular plan 1200 is much much better than the consumable.
Again, just enjoy whatever your plan you have and as a reminder, NEVER NEVER NEVER get tempted to increase your credit limit without considering your pocket's capability.
For now, i am at plan 1200 addict consumable with a 2,500 credit limit and so far so good.Smart would always entice you to increase your credit limit. Okay yun pag kaya mo magbayad especially if you are not bound by their 2 year contract.
Also, from recent experience, both of the bills from smart and sun are quite okay and clear now unlike the previous posts with regards to billing.

crowing, nothing wrong in your bill. just pay what you have consumed, and make sure you have no previous month billing and stay below credit limit and you're ok.
