Remove the battery and short the terminals on the phone with a coin or other metal thing then try again. It worked for me on several occasions

This is a spooky ... the same thing just happened to my p8 AND this happened 3 days after I painted my phone BLACK... (the paint job was a disaster btw whoever is punting the idea of using spray paint !).

Anyway I got a lot of messages that the phone was totally out of memory and I kept trying to switch it on and it kept dying. Eventually it came up that my phone drive C was corrupt and it would need to reformat.. which was a bit of a pain in the neck but luckily I learned my lesson a whlile ago about creating backups regularly. Good luck.

My P8 is starting to fall apart a bit actually, I have the speaker phone problem ( i.e. must use headsets ) and to be honest the P8 crashes more often than AOL (lol - not).

I forgot to add that we need to be careful when creating voice memos. That's what caused my problem.... I left it on by mistake and it filled up all the memory.

PPS - don't get me started on AOL - when my year long broadband contract runs out, I'll be waiting at my PC at one second to midnight to de-register. They are a really pants company.
