According to the WSJ, a New Zealand mobile-phone subscriber sent an average of 2,580 text messages a day in May to protest a telecom price hike.
"Allowing eight hours for sleep every day Fraser Ray, 24 year old, zapped off 80,012 messages from his phone after Telecom announced it was ending a deal giving subscribers unlimited text messaging for 10 New Zealand dollars (US$6.29) a month".

O2 have something in london where you can send "unlimited" picture messaging for free, on a certain tarriff, but there is a fair usage policy of only 200 per month.

Yeah, you have to be on a contract or higher, but they only just introduced it. They just added it as a promotion so more people want to join their contract tarriffs. Its not a deal like free mins etc. that you get when you sign up, they just did it for the South-East where if you on the 100 contract or higher you get them free from 7-8pm. I dont know if it is still up and running. My brother was on the 100 contract but is not anymore. He didnt send toooo many free ones
