T-Mobile just starting charging 15 cents for each international text message. Anybody know what other GSM providers in the US charge for international texts? I hope there is something cheaper because I send a lot of international text messages.

Are they? Just curious do you have to have the text messaging service plan, or is it just like the 5 cents per message type deal only 15 cents?

Huh? that's odd, here in Mexico they don't charge extra for international SMS.
...But maybe later...

They just started this June 1st here so you might want to check if they are doing it elsewhere.

why don't you call them and ASK? after you call them, then you can tell me if they are charging for international text messages OK?

i would imagine they would be charging a higher rate for intl sms simply because the recipient's network would impose additional charges for delivering the message.
if they are not charging, it is only because your carrier is doing so to promote sms usage. thus, they would be absorbing the costs of intl delivery, but that would definitely not last forever.

since T-Mobile US is still new to the SMS feature, none of the carriers guarantee that the text message one is sending will be received. T-Mobile has announced that they will start charging for international text messaging since April ($.35 outgoing), been moved to May, and after changing the layout of the website last month, they decided to post the 'Effective June 1st 2004 ($.15 outgoing)Notice" Unfortunately, as un predictable as T-Mobile is, this notice has been postponed until further notice which means ...it still comes out the the SMS package one has or $.5 cents to send an international text message.
