A new line of Cliés planned for the fall will be sold only in Japan. Sony said that it is focusing instead on its cell phone business, run through a joint venture with cell phone maker Ericsson.
Sony's withdrawal from the once-booming market — which it entered with great fanfare in 2000 — shows how quickly PDAs are flaming out, technology analysts say. "It's not really the space that it once was," says analyst Cindy McCurley with In-Stat/MDR.

As I have predicted before . . . it won't be long that PDA's and Laptops will soon become obsolete gadgets! Celfones and Desktops will still be around for quite sometime. Just look what happened to the 'beepers' !
