This is backed up as part of the normal backup procedure so assuming you are doing a backup, format, restore you don't need to worry further.

Yes, but I'd like to copy only that file, and to format my P800, cause I want to clean it again.

ok, no problemo

you still have to do a full backup then simply locate the backup file and extract it from there

on windows xp mine is stored in a folder under c:\Documents and Settings\myname\Application Data\Sony Ericsson\backups

you can open the folder with winzip and then locate the filestore.dat.txt file. In there search for calllog.dat and note the number at the beginning of the line. This is the fle number within the archive that you need to extract for the calllog.dat

if you want to replace this file into an newly formatted phone then you will have to make a new backup after formatting, find the file number for the calllog.dat in the new backup using the same method as above and then replace that file number with the file extracted from the original backup, again using winzip, and the perform a restore

Thanks for your professional answer
I'll try this way.
Edit:
I found some back ups, but they have .ecs extension, and winzip can't open them
How to do?

@bogdan1978buc, yep, they are the files and I just right click the file and choose "open with" and then choose winzip. In fact winrar can also open them if you have that

I don't think I can help more than that if you get an error at this point

good luck!
