can anyone tell me that the memory stick duo with adaptor can also be used with different sony handcams or devices. Because i heard that ms has its file system in p900 and it has different file system in different devices. so for ms to work devices should have same file system. Am i right?? thx in adv.

it will most probably not work, since the memory-stick devices (cams/bluetooth adaptors/etc.) use the regular memory stick format, not duo.
besides, there would have to be symbian drivers available for the cam, and i believe it's only available for palm devices.

If you use your adapter, then the MS duo is just like a normal memory stick, and can be used in any MS device

as MixiN says, the duo in an adaptor is no different from the standard memory stick
anyway, although I remember previous answers to this I just tried a quick test for myself to be sure and its as I remember. The P900 only sees folders underneath x:\MSSEMC\p-Series and the cameras can only see folders under x:\DCIM
if you access the duo from a pc a move the pictures taken from the DCIM folders to the p-series folders then the P900 can see them and you can use them.
Strangely, even SMan file manager couldn't see the DCIM folders, only the Media Files folder under p-series

I might query that with ajack for the next version of SMan

thanks! you put me out of my misery. I knew I had done it before when this question came up before but assumed it was using SMan and in my testing just now totally discounted the built in file manager... whadamistakatamaka!
anyway, yes, you can view the files using the file manager and/or move them to the correct folder or to internal memory and use the Picture application.

yes but it is not practical as it seems. The picrures are too big for mms or any method using a gprs conn.

To answer the original question,
"can anyone tell me that the memory stick duo with adaptor can also be used with different sony handcams or devices?"
I was at a camera store a few weeks ago, and was looking at the Sony F828 8MP digicam. I took the Duo card out of my P900 and put it in the camera, with an adapter, of course. I snapped a few pictures, around 3MB's each and took it out of the camera. It seems the camera created its own directory, that was not interfering with other functions of the P900. When I got back to the parking lot, I transfered the images to my PowerBook using Bluetooth. When I mounted the card using a reader, the P900 file structure was intact and differed from the camera's own folders.
I didn't bother at the time to view the images on the P900, as I know from experience it would choke on something far smaller.

Emailing a 4 Megapixel digicam's pic with a P900 is SLOW and EXPENSIVE. However, I have a 4 Mp digicam (which uses MS-cards) with a nice feature - it can make a smaller copy of a large pic (from 4 Mp to 0.3 Mp) and thatway makes it easier to email a pic with a P900!
