Does anyone know how to increase the duration that alrams ring for? At the moment I have a mp3 as the alarm ring, but it only plays about 30 seconds of it and stops (the mp3 goes for longer). Is there any way to ensure that the entire clip plays?

I have searched for this but all I found was information related to alarms, silent mode, flight mode and the like - which is not really relevant.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I asked Orange about this and they said the longest you can have the phone ring out before the answer phone/voice mail service kicks in is 30 seconds

Suppose you could always deactivate the voice mail but you think given these days of polyphonic ringtones Orange would increase it to about 60 seconds or so... or would that be too easy?

Ooops just re-read your post and realised you were referring to alarms - sorry!

@ Xerxes_8933a,

I think what you mean is this. I'm not trying to get the phone to ring longer (although through that link I did get it to do so ) but the alarm in the time settings area. I'm not really a light sleeper and 30 seconds of alarm sometimes isn't enough to wke me up

khaosspawn,

I agree. SE should allow 'ALARM' to go on until you stop it, hence alarm.

I think it goes for 30 seconds, then stops and go off again if you don't stop it the first time. I wish it would play longer too because one may very well sleep thru 30 seconds.

Yes... silly me read your post wrong (well it is fairly late / early in the morning here ).

And you're right the alarm does only play for 30 sec (I tried a midi and wav file too)

It does repeat though after about a minute or so... although being a heavy sleeper myself I know that often isn't good enough!

@ Xerxes_8933a

Thanks anyway - I think we posted replies at exactly the same time. I had a bad feeling that we would be stuck with it @ 30 seconds - maybe in the next firmware upgrade (any SE employees wanna help us out?).
