Hi to all!
I just bought a HAMA 9in1 cardreader to solve the speed problem uploading mp3 files to my memorystick for the P900. Unfortunately I get an errormessage telling me I cannot acces the data (erase or add files to the m-stick) although I can look through the folders on it with my windows filemanager. I have tried a regular memorystick and also a compactflash card and the cardreader works fine with it. It only seems to have problems with the memorystick Duo (it works great on the phone and I can access it both ways through the cradle - slow as hell of course.... by the way, itīs an original Sony Memorystick 128Mb)
Please Help me out...
thanx

Mine works ok with an old 6in1 reader I have. I use the supplied MS adaptor with the Duo
Is any other Duo working in your card reader?
If you have only one Duo and some time to spare.... backup your duo (using phone suite). Format it and then try reading / writing using the card reader. Once it is established that reader is working fine with Duo, you may restore the Duo and try again
who knows!!!

i am trying to copy files to 32MB MSD with my built-card reader on my laptop. however, whenever I have copied files from my laptop to the MSD. the phone wont recgonise the stick anymore. its show 0kb and i need to reformat the stick to gain access to it again.
can someone enlighten me what is wrong with that?

It seems that the HAMA 9in1 (mod.00047100) doesnīt accept Memorystick DUO. I called the tech support yesterday and they told me that it works for MS, MS Pro but not MS DUO, even with the adapter. Strange. I thought that the DUO was the same card, but smaller, so it would just fit the smaller devices, but it seems that the internal architecture of it is slightly different too...
The guy on the phone told me that the HAMA 12in1 (mod.00047147)will work... it just means that I spent 15 for nothing...
Interesting that an old HAMA 6in1 works...... what model is it exactly?

Sounds like a HAMA problem. With the MS adaptor, MSD should be read by anything which can read MS. As far as I know, the architecture of MS and MSD are different but the interfacing is same with a MS adaptor

@pninehundred
Are you sure you are maintaining the correct folder structure while copying the files in your laptop's card reader? P900 expects a certain folder structure for different types of files. It creates this structure when you format the card in the phone

@pninehundred
try formatting the card on ur phone. then, i presume its a vaio with built in ms duo support, plug it to the laptop. if u can clearly see the folderstructure, copy mp3s to the audio folder. im sure u did that anyway, but making sure.
i think ur problem resides in the fact that u get indication about copy process less than it actually takes. if u remove the stick too soon u get corrupted data. have patience when copying.
another expl could be that your ms d is a magic gate version. is it? i dunnow how those act, but due to its architecture "preventing" piracy, i doesnt allow u to copy te same mp3s more than twice. correct me if im wrong. hope this helps. keep us posted
