the blue triangle is for gprs access, its shown if its activated. did u asked your operator already in case of the sos calls?

@java: actually, when u get the SOS message and the green signal boosts to maxiumum, it's not cuz u have full power but cuz u have no signal. The "SOS" message tells u u have no network so disregard the antena indicator...i know it sounds silly but u actually have NO signal, no matter what the antena says.
The blue triangle is the gprs indicator as my fellow-esatoan tells u

Actually, you have the SOS calls because you do have reception, jsut not on a network you have access to.
For example in the Uk i'm on T-mobile. If i'm in an area that doesnt have any reception for t-mobile, i can use the orange network for sos calls, and the reception may be full for orange in that area. The reception bars will be full because of this.

You'd only be able to make SOS calls if the phones IMEI number is blocked too..

Yes, you can still make SOS calls on a phone who's IMEI number has been blocked. I once bought a phone from a dodgy man.. when i got it home he had got it blocked. I could only make SOS calls..
I then went to his house, demanded my money back.. he said no, and i had to use force on him. He quickly gave me my money back.
That was a couple of years ago.

Even when you have no credit your operator logo is still displayed.
You only realise you have no credit when you try to make a call, and instead of hearing who you wanted to talk to, you hear a recorded voice of some woman saying " you have no credit, so pay up sucka !"
I'm gonna place a bet of £10 on his phones IMEI number being blocked, i bet someones reported it stolen.

That's for emergency purposes.
Even without a Sim card on you can dial 112, 911 (and another one i can't remember).
No matter what, if an emergency comes up, you can always call 112.
