I was wondering if anyone knew if police can access your cell phone after it has been powered off? I have SE T616 and it asks for phone lock and sim card lock passwords when you turn it on. This is my first post so please excuse me if I place it in the wrong forum. Thanks for the help.

are you just completely paranoid or something? i don't think they can, because in an episode of CSI, they were looking for a woman, and could only find her because it was on. But if t hey really could, do you think they'd want everyone to know?

they cant, on FBI Files they were looking for a stolen truck, and inside had the died owner's phone, they started to call and look for the signal, the guy who was driving turned it off and they lost the signal.

As long as its turned-on, they can trace your location. They'll know which cellsites you're using.

So why is he dodgy? Its a simple question,if u dont know the answer, naff off ;-) I think it depends on what u've bin nicked for, like if ur on suspicion of being a terrorist then they will have ways of switching it on,if ur a drug dealer, etc then they prolly aint got the power and authority :-)

what do you mean by "access"?
a phone that has been switched-off would give out any kind of signal. however, a phone's memory even if it has been "locked" and configured to ask for PIN codes, can be read (or modified) using the right tools, assuming they have physical access to it.
