> What is really going on with the P900?
Bookmark topic
I received an email yesterday at work saying the P900 was having problems in quality control, having not received any for 3 months. Today on the Vodafone website all mention of the P900 has been removed and Orange sales have not had any stock since December!!!!
Does anyone know what is realy going on, I have heard numerous rumours such as it has been discontinued or there are problems with the phone.
Can anyone shed any light on the whereabouts of the P900, if not it looks like mulder and scully are gonna need to get back together!

It is very suspicious. I heard that the suppliers of the camera parts went bust so they (SE) stopped producing them until they found another camera part supplier....

Here in Wales a couple of shops have them on "special order only" meaning if you order one they have them delivered to the shop in two days...my mate just got one that way.

I had to wait 3 months for my P900 when I upgraded in January. It wasn't until April until I got my phone. Orange kept on saying that they were out of stock, then they had some but needed to test them. Finally got mine and it wasn't working properly until I did an online update.

I have also heard the 'camera supplier' rumour. That started going about at christmas. I just really can't understand how Sony Ericsson is allowing Orange to go without P900's for over six months, not even like one or two, they have had none for general sale for six months. Somebody at the Sony Ericsson factory needs a good kick up the @ss

well folks, p900 is available here in Romania. still, as the market still feeds on p800 (cheaper), there couldnt be a stock problem. a friend in usa, san francisco just told me that u can get p800/p900 there u have to stay in line 4 two months or so... strange, huh? just like ipods... which u can get anywhere here too. :) then on, i read some posts here on esato on p900 flip problems, case cracking etc. i kinda suspect the quality control theory too. hmm. my p800.s fine though, thank God.

You still can buy the P900 here in the US from SE. It is in stock.
However, I had it at the US service center and it took 1 week for them to even get started on it. Then another 10 days to do the repair and I hope I get a workin phone this evening. So they got either lots to do, lots of problems or both. In any case there are issues.
