hi all
i have just downloaded (TUBE UK MAJOR ROAD ATLAS) .iit has a problem runing because of low memory. have spoke to tube.com and thay told me " To decompress & open the UK map 6.3mb of RAM is required, this should not present a problem on the P800/P900 unless a memory hungry or several apps are running ".i have used taskman to close all apps and compress memory but i can only ever get a max of 6.4M free (still not enough) i was just wondering if this about right for ram.
what sort of figuers are you all geting out of taskman for memory
THANKS

Installing on Duo will only provide extra storage space. I think he is lacking free RAM. I guess the two are different (someone please shed some light on this if I'm mistaken)

Also, has anyone been able to run the London street map fine with P900? Please share your experiences

I never go above 7000k
normally somewhere around 6800k

Got the snapshot from SMAN

Is the OS using 9MB (out of 16 provided)???

skydiver

I managed to install and run the Tube Pro app.

I found that Symbian needs to load the whole app in RAM before installtion. I also found that Tracker etc use a lot of RAM as do bit maps used for backgrounds and additional ring tones. If you just load Task Man (get a trial copy) and use to shut down all the apps (inc. Tracker) and don't use any bit maps for baclground you should see the RAM increase to about 7.2MB, enough for Tube Pro to install.

Tried

Fresh on, switcher reports 7128k, exited switcher, tried to start, low memory warning, yes to close other apps...

Phone just sits there...doing nothing

So it cant be the memory thing.
