> Syncronization - PC Memory Problems
Bookmark topic
Wonder if someone can help me out. Using Lotus Notes and Win2000 PC with 512Mb memory to sync p900. I'm at the point where I need to sync everything individually, contacts, tasks, calender etc. Everything together chews too much PC memory, so I'm doing each individually. Doing that helps. The only one not working is Calender, even if I select 1 day behind, 1 day ahead. It chews up PC memory (like 128mb and more in no time) during the analyze stage, then crashes with a Virtual System memory low error. What on earth is causing the sync priocess to chew so much memory?

You are not alone. We have exactly same problem. One user is ok, everything goes well. Another user causes lots of trouble, We can sync contacts but not calendar, getting error message "lotus note api error 0X0000.... (insufficient memory)" . The sync PC has 1G Ram and it does not help even we set the virtual memory to 4G. only difference is the former user's mail's file size is around 90M and the trouble one is 300 M. Because calendar is sitting in user's mail nsf file, maybe it may causes problems. Contacts is sitting in another nsf file normally the size is around 5-10 M.We use the lotus notes R5.
so try to archive your mail file to a reasonable size ...
Are u sync a local nsf file? anyway , it must be something wrong with the sync program itself.
cheers,

Thanks.
An all singing all dancing phone that now won't Sync. I'm having a great time with this!
Now it's just initialising and analysing the calender sync, then says Complete but it's transferring nothing! All this now only takes 30 seconds!
Any more suggustions?
Oh...my mail .nsf file is 470Mb on the server.
Now it's available, I might try PC Suite 2.4.1 English (UK) version on the PC - something about support for large Notes databases, and support for Notes R6.5....sounds interesting....any thoughts?

Tried PC Suite 2.4.1. Memory usage of DXP PIM.exe appears to "grow" less, however it still spikes to astronomical levels. More consistently around 30Mb useage average though, so some improvement it seems.
However the net result is the same - no calender. Eventually the Sync fails with Notes API Error - Insufficient Memeory 0x00000107.
Following this failure, every subsequent attempt to Sync gives me "Sync has completed" almost straight away. Reinstalling the PC Suite solves this!!
There must be a better wayor a solution? Any further assistance anyone can give would be appreciated.
Thanks.

hi,
I solved this problem by reducing the calendar size.In my case, I moved all the calendar items older than 2004 to a new mail file. It works fine. The only thing is that it can't sync the repeated items on lotus notes, but it can sync the repeated item entered from the phone???
Anybody else have the solution for this?
Cheers,
