> bluetooth 100 m range dongle

hi folks. im using one widcomm 10m range bt dongle. works fine. but has anyone tested the 100m ones. seen some in stores here in Romania and was wondering if any of you tested one and give us some feedback. i.m also looking for a pc remote bluetooth proggy for p800 like christensson.org one for the t68i. remember that one? cheers

I mean if the phone does not have a 100m BT, then even if a 100m dongle is able to talk to it from say 80m, will the phone be able to talk to the dongle from 80m?
Or does it work some other way?

me dont know really :) thats what i,m trying to find out too heh... i wonder... guess the range extends a bit if u use one of those. was actually thinking of getting two of them,one 4 the pc and one for my laptop, so i can really get the taste of mobility around the house or the office. i couldnt support wifi lan when im all with se and when my p800 has bt. not to mention my ancient t68i or r520. so if anyone had a 100m bt dongle please share the experience it with us. plus, ive notised range improvements from r520 to r520 to r520-nk 6310i. the latter communicated well over the 10m average. weird huh?

clearly only works at 10m on the p900, which makes sense...
so unless u have other 100metre devices, save some money and get a cheaper 10m dongle

Ok... clear about the range.
How about the bluetooth speed. I got my 10m dongle today and tried browsing from the phone - dont think the speed was very comfortable
And tips / experience from anyone is appreciated

a p8/9 will work with a 100m dongle but only at the max range of the the most limiting device (i.e. the connection must work both ways, not just one).

i did not initially have a cable for my p800 so, as i had the bt dongle, i decided to use it. with communication suite, after i connect the bt serial port, i open the My p900 (thats wot the icon sais.. hehe) shortcut and get access to phones main drive and ms duo drive with win explorer interface. i use it to upload ogg, install stuff, move pics to pc.
in theory, bt is still serial connection and should not be different from Ir or cable. u know, they all are around the 115000 speed. still, now that i got a cable, i still use bt. for some reason cable is slower... ???hmm (cable only for backup as it cannot be done over bt)
so never worry m8, theres no way browsing could be slow because of bt. serial speed covers/hanles most of internet transfer without maxing up. it must be because of you net provider, or because of the p800 low power proc. dont expect too much, really, but keep in mind that there is nothing better than bt. yet!
any other feedback? ill gladly ask. cheers
