Had a bad day yesterday, I work in a garage, and yesterday morning my wife texted me. As I removed my P900 from its case it slipped from my hand into a bucket of old oil and antifreeze! I don't have insurance on my handset, so I had almost resigned myself to life without my P900. Then I had a thought today, maybe I could claim it on my house insurance, so I called them. To my suprise it was covered! I have to pay a £50 excess fee, but for that I get a brand new phone, still cheaper than buying it myself. This message was posted from a T630

That's gotta be the most disastrous cell phone drop I've ever heard of! That, and running over it with the car, but I've not come across anyone doing that yet

JohnM,

Wow, good for you. I had no idea home insurance covers that sort of mishaps.

My home insurance in the US is very specific as to what does and does not cover. Has anyone in the US done this sort of claims against their home insurance I wonder.

I was very lucky indeed, I never expected it to be covered at all. The phone still works, I took it apart and cleaned it out with electrical contact cleaner. Just the screen is very dull now and keypad doesn't work. Still my wife has let me borrow her t630 till I get my replacement phone. This message was posted from a T630

The same happened to my father. He was in his car and he had to brake very hard to avoid a newbie scratching his d*ck and his t630 fell off the holder and hit the gear selector. The pcb broke. But the insurance of the car covered the mobile.:-D This message was posted from a WAP device
